The Last Theme Day: Favorite Photo

Today marks the end of an era for City Daily Photo Bloggers.  Ever since I started posting with this group back in July of 2008, I have always participated in the monthly themes presented on the first day of every month.  As of September 2020, it will end.  So, for this last Theme Day post the subject is a favorite photo from our archives.  This was very difficult for me because I have so many favorites over the years.  However, I finally decided to narrow it down to photos I've had framed and that now hang on the walls at my home.  This one from 2011 fit the bill perfectly.

I posted this one on October 2nd, 2011.

Shortly after I posted this photo, I had an enlargement made and I then took the print to a local framing store.  The woman who helped me with the framing knew how to make this photo a masterpiece.  I think the framing is as wonderful as the photo is.

I enjoy a good artistic challenge so I'll miss our monthly themes.  Fortunately I still have my "Art Challenge" group to trigger my sense of self expression.

That is a spectacular image,
Is City Daily Photo stopping, or just changing directions?

Oh I remember this so well Sharon, it is a superb shot, definitely one of those 'I wish I'd taken it' images. The framing could not be more perfect 💜

It is fabulous, Sharon! The framing is perfect for your image.
It was fun reading the comments on the original post and seeing Randy, Birdman, etc.

A perfect image for the theme day. Four monarchs lined up perfectly? An embarrassment of riches. BTW, Bob Crowe of St. Louis DP is thinking about continuing the theme days. Stay tuned.

The framing is just outstanding! It really brings out the beauty of the photo. Your abstract painting is also good. I have about three feet between the ceiling and the kitchen cabinets, and have thought about trying to paint something to go up there. Would it have killed the builder to go up another foot?

That IS a great photo! Back when I started blogging I joined the city daily photo group, but my blog eventually evolved away from that format. I don't think I ever did the monthly challenges. I guess you could come up with your own personal monthly challenges, right?
