I didn't realize when I snapped this photo of "Mr & Mrs Quail" that they both were standing on one leg. I just thought they made a cute couple standing on a wall and quietly watching their surroundings. I think they might be having a quick snooze instead.
Can you imagine trying to have a quick nap while standing on one leg? That takes a special kind of balance and dexterity.

They are so cute, Sharon! I stand on 1 leg while I brush my teeth for balance practice & exercise but it is really hard to do it with eyes closed.

I'm usually not able to get close enough to quail to see much detail. Interesting behavior and a wonderful photo!

There's loads of them here just about everywhere, but they are cute little birds.
