Sonoran Light

The next exhibit to be installed at the Desert Botanical Garden was called Sonoran Light by artist Bruce Munro.  Munro has done massive light exhibits all over the world.  His installations are made from a vast variety of items.  Above is one that was lit with fiber optics.

You can see the ends to lights in this close-up shot.

In one spot was a field of these round towers made from water bottles that were filled with water.

At night, the lights placed inside each tower made them glow with a rainbow of colors.

Most of the installations in this exhibit were best viewed at night when they glowed with the different modes of lighting.  To the left is one of four hanging pieces that also reflected sunlight and cast rainbow like reflections all over the plants below during the day.

This exhibit ran from November of 2015 through May of 2016.

Wonderful light play. I saw one of the hanging pieces in Grace Cathedral in San Francisco a couple of years ago.
