Ocotillo, the Skinny Cactus


 Another plant that is blooming right now is the Ocotillo, the prickly plant with long thin branches.  In my title I called it a cactus but apparently it is more related to tea than it is to cactus.  

Those long, skinny legs get clusters of orangish-red blooms on them at this time of year.














Here are a couple of closer looks at those brightly colored blooms.  Topped with those redish blooms, they look very festive.
