Southwestern Scene

I found this mural in an upscale shopping center in Tucson when I was there a week ago.  The artist is Joe Pagac and he's painted a very southwestern scene with a few shopping bags down there to remind you that you are in a shopping complex.  He also added that very cute Gecko who looks very much like the GEICO gecko.  (For those of you who don't know, GEICO is an insurance company who uses a talking gecko in all of its commercials.). It's painted on the side of a set of escalators leading up to the second floor of the center.

Taking part in Monday Murals.

Beautiful mural Sharon. I wonder if maybe the mural was sponsored by some of the shops or the insurance company (the bags and the gecko).
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

A creative use of an otherwise mundane corner of the museum.
