At Eye Level

The last time I was walking at the Desert Botanical Garden, I noticed that a very large Toothpick Cactus had one arm at my eye level with a pretty bloom right on the end.  It looks like another bloom at the end will open up soon.

I'm usually using the telephoto lens to photograph these blooms but this time I could walk right up the  flower and snap a photo.

How convenient is that?

I had to blow up the photo to see that the blossom actually was from the cactus. In the first photo it looks like it is reaching for it!
