Humor at the Opera

I went Arizona Opera's production of "Ariadne auf Naxos" last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed a show full of humor as well as music.  The opera was written by Richard Strauss and was full of humorous situations.  I snapped the photo of the opening set before the opera had started.

The opera was performed at The Herberger Theatre in downtown Phoenix.

I snapped the photo to the left in the lobby of the theatre where the Christmas Tree was situated right under  the chandelier that hangs around the skylight.

I would never have associated the words "opera" and "humor." I don't know much about opera but I've always imagined it to be SO serious, for lovers of serious music. So thanks for pointing out that it has a lighter side!

Sorry to say I am not a Opera fan... but I do like the Christmas decor.
