Full Moon

Last weekend, I was at my friends Julie & Dave's house for dinner and it happened to be a full moon night.  I was busy helping prepare the dinner so Dave grabbed my camera and went out to see if he could get some good shots.  I'd say he succeeded nicely.

After I downloaded the shots, I sent a few back to Dave who told me he took them hand-held.  I'm really impressed now.  I'd say he did a fantastic job.

It was clear here on Saturday night too and the moon looked fabulous. My pics never work so I rarely try to catch the moon. Dave did well!

He DID do a great job. It can be hard to expose pictures of the moon correctly, preserving all the features on the surface. Sometimes the camera overcompensates for the dark sky and you just wind up with a flat white disk on a black background!

He did indeed Sharon! The moon is hard to capture at the best of time but hand held almost impossible!

Stunning!

I saw it that night as it was setting.

Those are beautiful shots. We have so much cloud cover this time of year I don't even think to look for the moon.
