The Orpheum Theater Lobby

I didn't remember that the lobby had niches with busts in them.  I believe there were four altogether.

At one end of the lobby is the "peacock" staircase.  It's called that because of the beautiful peacock that is located on the underside of the stairs.

It's such a beautiful place.  I'd love to explore it more.

On one of my visits, Doc Spo and I saw a modern ballet there, it was wonderful The city is lucky to have such a grand old venue, preserved in all it's glory.

Quite lavish. A curving staircase will always draw my eye.

Fantastic! They really knew how to build theatres back in the day. I wonder if it would even be possible to build such a space now. Are there still craftspeople who could create all that ornamentation?

I knew it was stunning but I had no idea. Thanks for showing it, Sharon.
