Finally, Fall Colors

Those fall colors are finally showing up here in the desert southwest.  We have to have several weeks of chilly nights before the trees start to show their color.

It's a pretty sight when they finally do start to change and leaves start to fall.  I love spotting the colors in different parts of town.

Lovely!

So it's about two months behind our colours.

I am reminded of an experience we had in Mexico. We moved into a house that had a yard with a big poinsettia plant (or two or three) growing in one corner. I told SWMBO I was amazed because I always thought those plants grew in pots in Safeway stores! By the way, in Mexico they are called nochebuena flowers.

Blue skies and yellow foliage always go together so well. What kind of trees are those, do you know?
