New Experience: Dining Out

I dined out - inside a restaurant - twice this last weekend!  It felt new and a bit strange.

Friday night I had dinner with two friends and I have to admit I did feel a bit nervous after stepping through the restaurant door and seeing all those people inside.  However the restaurant was spaced carefully and they used plexiglass partitions in some places.  After being seated, I started to relax a bit.

Side note:  The businesses creating plexiglas barriers have certainly prospered over this past year, haven't they?

On Sunday I had brunch with friends at the Wrigley Mansion, pictured above and to the left.

Since it was Mother's Day on Sunday, the restaurant at the Wrigley Mansion had quite a few special tributes to mother's everywhere.  This little arrangement was placed just inside the door.  The little bottle to the left isn't perfume, it's hand sanitizer.  Another sign of the times.

Yes that must feel strange to go out for diner after such a long time ago... We all have become a bit uncomfortable with meeting other people. That is sad heritage of this Covid time...

Dining out is a whole new experience.

It still feels like it'll be a long while before dining out feels okay.

We have to readjust to certain routines... i'm just wondering how long it will take...

I do like these new kinds of experiences even if I will fear them in a couple of weeks.

It would be an odd experience. I'm not sure when that will happen here!

How nice Sharon, isn't it weird how the things we so took for granted are now so special. Perhaps we will generally appreciate things more now. The Wrigley Mansion looks beautiful, very elegant.

That's quite fancy hand sanitizer! We haven't done a restaurant since last summer, and I remember feeling nervous then, so I know just what you're talking about. Our restaurants open on the 17th here.

Only outdoor dining here will be allowed starting on June 7th.

The heart of petals is rather special.

I'm starting to dine inside, too. Most places down here require masks until seated, and the tables are spaced apart. Today the CDC said that vaccinated people don't need masks inside. I wonder how quickly the local restaurants will go back to the old ways. Frankly, I like it the way it is now.
