Here is another mural found in that alley behind The Churchill in downtown Phoenix. This one is by Phoenix muralist Nyla Lee and it's called "Protector." This one leaves me wondering who is protecting who. I think maybe the pretty girl is protecting the tiger. What do you think?

Maybe the "protector" is a third element, an unseen force that keeps the tiger from attacking the human. Or that keeps the human race from exterminating tigers. Or both.

Frankly, I think that tiger looks a little shifty-eyed.

The tigers certainly need protecting! What a coincidence that you & TFG posted the same mural. That has happened here only a couple of times with other Toronto bloggers.
I think it's a metaphor for protecting both tigers and plants in the mural. It's beautiful, regardless.

hmm quite a question, but maybe in real life the tiger would turn around and eat the girl.
It goes both ways in my interpretation. Tiger could protect the woman but she could represent human protection for other species.

I just watched the documentary series Tiger King - so I was a little taken aback by this mural! I'm confused about who's protecting who, especially after seeing the documentary. That's some weird stuff!
