Tiny Poser
Yesterday I was leaving my house to run an errand and as I approached my car I could hear the sound of a humming bird close by. I looked over at a shrub growing by the walk and saw this guy sitting on a branch. My first thought was that I'd never get my camera out in time but, I tried anyway. I had to set down the cold drink I was holding and set down my purse and then get the camera out. The whole time I did all that this little guy held his pose while keeping an eye on me. I popped off 5 shots before he decided that was good enough. I'd say this tiny creature is either a good sport or true ham.

I very seldom see any humming birds around here. When I do see one I get very excited. They look so graceful in flight.
Fantastic! I've never seen a hummingbird so still (we don't have them in Europe, but I've seen many on my travels - the 1st one flew so fast I thought it was a big bee! LOL!).
It's very rare that they stay still that long, unless they're sleeping!
I'd say you are one lucky photographer. These things never stop flitting about when I have a camera out! Beautifully detailed photo, too!
Wonderful, Sharon! Love his long pointy beak!
What a beautiful little jewel! You are lucky that he waited for you.
You are so good at these shots.
He knows a nature photographer when he spots one and genteely posed.
What a beauty, clearly likes having a photo taken too... great job!
