"Beware the Ides of March"

That was the warning to Julius Caesar in 44 BC on the day of his assassination.  Caesar dismissed the warning and his fate and the fate of Rome was sealed.  I thought a mysterious looking blood-red flower was a good way to mark the day.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today.  A visit to a grand villa is on the agenda.

We're marking it with more 'white'. I prefer the RED.

I always think of that line on this day. The lighting makes this picture a moody one.

A friend's birthday is today and we always kid her with that line. A lovely flower, Sharon!

Beautiful and portentous.

It's dark and for boding; great choice for the day, unusual too.
