Dreams of Venice

For that past weeks since returning from my trip to Italy, I've been working in my spare time editing and organizing all the photos I took.  I've tackled almost all of them but still have around 500 to sift through, and edit so I can upload the best of the best to my Flickr account.  While I was editing, I came across this photo that I took from the window of the plane after take off from the Venice airport.  I was lucky enough to have a window seat on the side of the plane that gave me an incredible view of Venice as we passed overhead.  I snapped a few photos with the little point-and-shoot camera and was surprised to find them to be better than I would have expected through the double glass windows of the jet plane.  I thought I'd share this one with you.  If  you've been to Venice, you will be able to identify some major landmarks and clearly see the grand canal as it cuts an S-shaped path through the center.  Ahhh....makes me wish I was there right now.

Oh yes that was exciting, I found St. Mark's Square right off Sharon, ah what lovely memories. Such a good shot with a point and shoot through glass, well done!

It is a great shot, Sharon! I too have been surprised at how clear my point-and-shoot pics are through a plane window.

Nice one, Sharon. I rarely get this opportunity because I aim for exit row aisle seats.

It's easy to see why it is called "The City of Water". Your camera did a great job!
