Nesting

A morning dove sitting on her nest situated in a cactus.

Can you find her in this photo from further away?

It doesn't look like the most comfortable spot for a nest. But, what do I know?!

I woke up this morning in Arizona to the sound of doves in our yard.

I found the dove in the big photo with the help that you centered the subject when taking the picture.

Wow, what great shots! She looks a little annoyed in that first one. LOL.

Cute! I like these things even though they're really nothing more than pigeons. And yes, I can see the bird in the 2nd photo - right in the middle, but very well hidden!

I love the sound of morning doves. This one is well protected in her (or his) nest. Also - I love the hidden "I spy" pictures! Great photos, Sharon!

I am impressed that you found her in there, but she is safe and secure from predators.

What a great shot. After seeing this I realized I don't really know the difference between a pigeon and a dove and looked it up. I see the question in a lot of responses on Google so guess I'm not the only one who has wondered.

She looks as interested in you as you in her

Very sharp image of the bird in the top photo. The cactus will help protect the chicks from predators but I always wonder how the nesting pair keep from getting stabbed.

I guess I will file this in the category of "do your best with what you have." A nest in a cactus? Well, if there is nothing softer around . . .

Cute! Doesn't she get needles/thorns in the foot?

I love Morning Doves and their soft cooing. She's well protected.

Wonderful photo. It's amazing how so many birds make their nests in inhospitable places - more safety for the chicks!

It always amazes me what passes as a nest for a dove. They are very minimalist. :)
