Desert Growth

I love the golden glow of this little desert scene.  Here we see golden barrel cactus with yellow California poppies in front.  The large group of yellow flowers is called many-bristled cinchweed and in back there is some purple lantana.

I got some California Yellow Poppies like you got in front. They came in seed and it took me forever and a day to find them listed somewhere. I used to call them four petal yellow flower.

Love the barrel cactus.

Yellow and purple is one of my favorite garden color combinations.

There is a glow coming off this one. Love your cactus shots... so alien in our parts.

How nice that we in Arizona can admire California poppies without driving to California.

So beautiful! The golden barrel cactus is one of the few in my collection that have never bloom...

Wow, that is just so beautiful. I think I am going to have to visit the Botanical Garden when I am in town next weekend.

This is, indeed, a lovely scene. It would make a wonderful painting, too.

This is pretty, Sharon. I imagine that this is a common sight for you while it is very exotic for East Coast guys like me.
