One more shot from the Musical Instrument Museum. This marble floor sits at the foot of a spiral staircase leading to the second floor of the museum. I love inlaid map of the world in different shades of marble.
Blogger Problem: It appears that there is another problem with blogger. I am unable to post comments on many of my reader's sites. I checked Blogger Support and it's a known problem they are working on. Sorry for the lack of comments.

Beautiful map. How do they manage to work with marble in such precise way??
I thought at first it was a head.. This is a wonderful way to display the world.
I can imagine the worker-artist working for whatever company was supplying the marble, and he is told what the design element is, and his reaction is "You want me to do WHAT?"
A world of music, it seems.
very interesting addition to the marble
Amazing marble work!
What a craftsperson it was who did that one! Nice.
This museum will be on my list for when I next visit Phoenix.
I think my bog is the kind that is having Blogger problems, too. Oh well.
I really like the blue shades.
It really is a wonderful piece of art. That marble is gorgeous.
The colours are fantastic although I'm a bit confused about some of them, geographically speaking.
