Fine Wines
This photo involves a story. Way back in 1999 or 2000 while I was still working in Chicago, my best friend David (who was working in Minneapolis at the time) and I flew to San Francisco for a weekend trip. We stayed with great friends who were living there at the time. On one of the days we took a trip to Napa where I bought this very expensive bottle of wine. It was somewhere around $95.00 at the time. Well, I've held on to that bottle all these years. Yesterday, David and I attended a show at the Phoenix Art Museum and after the show we went to my house where I decided it was time to uncork this bottle which had now increased to a value of $150.00. (If only my 401K had done so well.) I'm here to tell you that it was one supurb bottle of wine. As I right this, I'm now wondering where I can conjure up something this delicious again, without going broke.

Bottoms up!
what a good story. i feared you would be disappointed. so glad it turned out well.
What a wonderful occasion!!
Great minds must run in the same ruts, as I posted a bottle of wine on our Images blog today.
However our bottle of wine probably cost under $15! :)
I would have loved to taste this wine! A fine wine to go with a fine story!
What good is a fine wine if you don't drink it? I'm glad it did not disappoint.
Must have been a really good wine Sharon..I'v heard tales of folk keeping a special bottle of wine for many years and then when they go to drink it, it's gone sour and tastes like vinegar! What a treat you had!
A happy end to the story. I was afraid it wasn't going to be!
Cheers!
I am glad you enjoyed it. Sometimes you just need to give yourself a treat!
Nothing like sharing a good bottle of wine with a friend.
What a nice way to appreciate a good wine. Hope both of you made a few wishes while drinking it.
I see it's a Napa Valley wine. Never had one but I know the region is famous.
Love how this post is about drinking a wonderful bottle of wine, and you wrote, "As I 'right' this,..." Cute!
