Here is another statue from the Allan Houser collection that I found at the Hermosa Inn in Phoenix. This one is called "Prayer". There was no date on these statues so I'm not sure where these statues fall in the long career of Houser. I do know that his work ranges from intricate and life-like scenes to the ultra-modern.

This one really does portray a sense of prayer.
Although I LOVE his ultra-modern pieces, especially in Santa Fe, this is a beauty also! I will be a fan of his pieces forever, regardless of when and where he created them. There is something so magical about Native American artwork!
This is a really striking sculpture Sharon, it fits perfectly into this natural environment.
Allan Houser has an empathetic artist. I will have to check him out ...does he have a website Sharon?? Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Mary, Houser passed away in 1994 but there is a site featuring his work here: http://www.indianart.us/
Wonderful piece and a perfect setting for it, Sharon!
It is a fine statue. I really like Houser's work.
I love this.
These sculptures feel so much at home in this kind of nature.
The native American heritage always fascinates me. This and the previous post are two fine examples.
Both of these sculptures are beautiful.
