Blog Day: Best Photo of 2009

I think my dragonfly photo what the best of 2009. I took this back in May while visiting the Desert Botanical Gardens. The Chihuly exhibit was nearing its end and the garden was full of people trying to capture the beauty of the exhibit before it was gone. I spotted this dragonfly flying around this tall plant and I started snapping and hoping for the best.

And you definitely got the 'best'. This is a one-of-kind, brilliant shot. Excellent choice for the annual Best theme.

Oh yes! I liked this one too. They are hard to photograph and you did a great job with it.

Beautiful!! They are so lovely, that is until you see them really close up...then they kinda look alien. But such a hard shot to get - excellent job!

Indeed a splendid shot: clean composition and lovely blue background, and great focus where it matters. Congratulations.

Thanks for visiting my site, Sharon.

Excellent capture, Sharon.
«Louis» likes the geometry of the plant contrasted with the body of the insect.

I'm amazed you got the dragonfly to pose. And to think, I didn't even know we had dragonflies in Phoenix. Who knew? You really do show me things about the city I've lived in almost my whole life.
