Dia de los Muertos

I almost forgot about these photos I took last weekend when I went to the Desert Botanical Garden to see their annual Dia de los Muertos events.  One event they always have is a display of Offrendas (offerings) created by local artists.  Here are two of the altars on display.  The top one was created by Patrick Murillo and the one to the left by Patricia Silva.  Both have a sort of Aztec look to them.

This one is the community altar for the entire garden.  As always they were colorful and interesting and made walking around the garden an adventure of discovery.

How could you forget these unforgettable photos? :) They are so interesting and so colorful. I don't understand the fascination with death that they glorify but they are sure fun to look at!

I'm glad you got to see this display and that you showed them to us, Sharon! I didn't hear much about the day here this year.
