I was exploring the art along Main Street in Scottsdale when I stopped into one gallery to have a look around. I focused on an abstract piece across the gallery when this foreboding fellow stepped into the frame. Not really. He was just standing there but I thought he added some mystery to the shot so I included him.
Here is a close up of that work called "Abstract Lands". The artist is Kevin Irvin who works in wood. The piece above is dyed and painted wood pieces fitted together like a giant puzzle. It's beautiful.
He had these two black and white pieces in the gallery too. I discovered that he also makes furniture and public art. Check his website to see more amazing pieces. His furniture is wonderful.

Wonderful detail in the work, I wonder if it is inlay or paint?
Wow...so much time that involved to create this art. Cutting each piece to make it fit its spot, the painting and dying, the assembly. I love these!
There is a lot of work in these pieces, Sharon. I quite like them.
Beautiful pieces, Sharon.
Give me that colorful art pleasseeee. beautiful. What a cool gallery adventure. That abstract piece by Kevin Irvin is truly captivating. I love that you included the "foreboding fellow" in the shot; it definitely adds a wonderful layer of mystery and scale to the scene!
I just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
Beautiful artwork. My favourite is Abstract Lands.
Nice artwork, and photos.
It's kind of terrifying imagining that forbidding fellow "stepping into" the frame!
I like the colourful Kevin Irwin piece, that guy on the right would give me a fright I think.
