I went to the Phoenix Art Museum two weeks ago to see a special photography exhibit and I was caught off guard by a huge exhibit located in the main gallery that is used for special large exhibits.
It was a fashion exhibit and I had never seen them put a fashion exhibit in this big gallery. It was called "The World of Anna Sui" and I have to admit, I had no idea who that was.
Anna Sui is a designer who blends rock and roll, romanticism and nostalgia for fashion's earlier days and pairs it with a rocker aesthetic.
To me, the clothes have a bit of a Bohemian look to them but, maybe that's just because of my generation.
I know I posted a lot of photos today but I had a hard time choosing just which ones to post. They were all so colorful and unique. Now I know the name; Anna Sui.
I enjoyed seeing this show very much. I certainly see the "rocker" look in many of these combinations.

The colours and the styles are impeccable
I love her style. Like you said, it's bohemian. My son is getting married around Halloween and the attire is eclectic. Some of these dresses would be perfect!
I know the name but not really the clothes. Somehow I think her target market is not our generation, Sharon. ;-)
Apparently fashion shows are big business for museums, as they tend to attract more people than stale old painters. Or so I hear.
New to me too.
Very cool.
That is a very creative museum.
I've heard of her but didn't really know much about her until now.
