Today is Earth Day, a day we should be demonstrating our support for environmental protection. I think individually we are all doing our part to protect and preserve. However, our leaders seem to be going in the opposite direction. It's frustrating to see environmental regulations knocked down without any thought of the impacts to the planet. It simply makes no sense at all.
Sorry for the short rant. When I saw that Earth Day was on the horizon, I just couldn't stop thinking about all the changes being made that will impact the air we breathe, the water we drink and the storms we will endure.
I pulled the photo above out of my archives. It was taken in southwestern Colorado. It is land that needs to be enjoyed and preserved.

Beautiful shot, Sharon. I share your fears.
That is a gorgeous view. I would love to visit Colorado.
So sad. Let's make the best we can at home and around us.
That is a stunning view!
Navajo Lake is small high elevation lake sitting at 11,154 ft. Lizard Head Wilderness area... Navajo Lake, established in 1962, is the result of the Bureau of Reclamation's construction of Navajo Dam. The lake impounds the San Juan and Pine rivers, creating a large surface water reservoir. Navajo Dam, completed in 1963, was constructed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation on the San Juan River in northwestern New Mexico to provide water for the Navajo Indian Irrigation Project and other purposes. The dam is part of the basin-wide Colorado River Storage Project. That in part allows Phoenix to exist where it shouldn't - imho
Your photo from southwestern Colorado is a beautiful reminder of the land we need to preserve for future generations.
The earth will heal, after the humans go extinct.
I agree -- I cannot fathom some of the decisions our "leaders" are making. They don't even seem to have a purpose other than upsetting people on the other side of the political spectrum.
