There is a new mural in downtown Phoenix. It's just gone up in the alley behind the Renaissance Hotel. It's called "Melinda" in honor of the woman who inspired Melinda's Alley, a speakeasy style bar in the basement of the hotel.
I've never been there but according to several reviews, it's fun place to visit.
The rest of mural depicts what this corner used to look like 100 years ago. It is the work of Darrin Armijo-Wardle and Hugo Medina.

Wonderful piece of art. It is beautiful, colourful, and has a look back at the past.
Great, I like this mural very much !
The mural is an incroyable work Sharon. I was wondering if the flame colours are to represent a fire in this area many years ago, what do you think?
Such bright colours, Sharon!
This is quite amazing! Melinda looks like a touch, colorful and fiery character! At my age, 100 years ago doesn't sound so old! :)
What a wonderful mural!
That's an interesting one!
Wow! This is a very striking & amazing mural!
Wow, this is stunning Sharon. I absolutely love it.
A real eye-catcher!
Striking but I can't say that I like it.
Beautiful! And HUGE! Looks like the old building that used to be there was pretty interesting architecturally.
