I took a long walk at the Desert Botanical Garden on Saturday and I found myself admiring a lot of lavender blooms in different places. Above is a blue hibiscus. I'm not sure how it got it's name because it's more lavender than blue.
Nearby was some nightshade blooming with its papery flowers with yellow centers.
The Chinese Wisteria was also blooming. We don't see a lot of wisteria here in the desert.
The Lavender plants were enjoying the sunshine.
And the sea lavender was also looking pretty.
This was a new plant to me. It's called a Fairy Fan Flower. All of the blooms were half circles like a fan.

Lavender wasn't the only dominating color at the garden. Yellow was also making a showing. Tomorrow I'll show you what yellow has to offer.

Everything is looking good in lavender.
That's a lovely lot of lavender!
Great shots! Dave once told me there are no truly blue flowers -- that all of them are some shade of purple, even if the red elements are imperceptible to our eyes. If I'm remembering correctly -- I'll have to check that with him tonight!
Lovely selection, Sharon !
Pretty color!
I must admit, though it is sometimes thought less masculine, but this is one of my very favorite colors. Love your photos. Re your comment on the deli: These places used to be fantastic, but I think success ruined them. Our last experiences at two of them were less than favorable. But i keep hoping...
All in my favourite colour! I would have spent lots of time admiring these beautiful blooms too! Lovely shot of the lavender and I loved the first flower's star centre.
Each of those flowers are an Ode to Spring!
This is a good idea to do a color coordinated post, Sharon!
The beauty of lavender, you captured it well.
Beautiful colours!
Oh la! The Chinese wisteria is too beautiful Sharon! My gorgeous wee granddaughter would love this post, her favourite colour is purple 😀😀
