Good Paint Job, Bad Paint Job

Recently two older apartment complexes near where I live have had a make-over.  This complex called Capri on Camelback has been around for over 40 years and recently was updated with a tan, white and turquoise paint job that looks much better than it's old brown look.

In a different direction, this complex called Biltmore Pointe was looking a little shabby but recently went through an update with these crazy, gray and maroon zig-zag stripes.  This one has also been around for over 40 years.  Now, this is just my opinion but, those zig-zag lines just might have made this place look worse than before.

I agree. Those first buildings look cool and modern and clean. The second group looks like a drunk got hold of a paint brush and did his work in the middle of the night! :)

LOL -- it's hard to tell but I think the zigzags kind of work, actually. Certainly bold and daring! I wonder how the neighbors feel?

I do like the turquoise combination Sharon but I'm not hating the zig zag ☺

I think the colors are nice on the first one but the building itself is not appealing to me. The second one has the same unappealing look to it and the maroon color doesn't help.

Well it is a bit different the zig zag job.

Yes, that zig zag pattern does not work.

I agree too, the buildings look kind of tipsy.

A case of trying too hard to modernise the look with the zig zag chevron style paintwork!

Agreed!

I don't hate the zig-zag but I much prefer the first one!

This zig zag might have worked if they used tw shades of grey.

I agree Sharon. I think it looks very dated. The first one is nice though!

I could not agree more. The top one looks sophisticated, the bottom one looks chintzy.
