Allan Houser Sculptures
I found three Allan Houser sculptures at the Hermosa Inn on Saturday that were new to the resort. It looks like their collection changes often. Some of the ones I've seen before are still there and some are gone with new ones in their place. It appears their collection of sculptures are on loan from Figarelli Fine Art in Scottsdale so I imagine when one is sold, they bring another one. The one above is titled "Buffalo Dance Relief".
The one to the left is titled "Smoke Signal".
My favorite one was this one to the right. It's called "Ready to Dance". When I traveled for work with a team of people, my nickname became Dancing Queen so maybe that's why it struck a chord with me.

Allan Houser is a brilliant sculptor Sharon.. or should I say 'Dancing Queen' :) I would find it impossible to choose between these three.
I like them all. Lovely smooth lines.
Dancing Queen! I want to hear THAT story. :)(
Brilliant sculptures, Sharon, especially the Buffalo Dance Relief !
I like them all, very sleek!
"Ready to dance" has my vote.
I love all three of these!
Dancing Queen....huh....who knew.
Smoke Signal in particular is quite striking.
A master sculpture and artist; love the way he depicts women.
All three are my favourites, I really like the buffalo dance one too.
I like the last one the best but they are all good, Sharon! Dancing Queen? ;-)
Traveling to work= Dancing Queen? Come on there has to be more to that name. Share?
I like them all too, but the first one really caught my eye. A very talented artist.
They are all amazing.
Great Sculptures
I love, love, love that first art piece. I've opened your site about four times in the last two days and for some reason I only get about the first one-tenth of the second photo. Can't figure out what the problem is. We've had crazy weather the last couple of days so maybe it has something to do with that. Or maybe it's a blogger problem. When I type my comments in the box, the finished product looks like I'm typing on an ancient typewriter whose ribbon needed to be changed back in the last century. It's hard to tell if I have typos. Weird, huh?
That relief is wonderful. Dancing Queen? There is a story there, though we can probably guess . . . I have a former co-worker friend with whom I used to do a lot of business travel, and I use Dancing Queen as her ringtone.
