Pictures from Phoenix and sometimes from the surrounding cities that make up the "Valley of the Sun"
A really cool observation deck!
Tough bird! That penthouse doesn't look all that comfortable.
Talk about a protected home.
I am always amazed by the birds who build their nests in and around and on cacti. What a great shot, Sharon.
I'm not sure that I would have chosen that spot if I were a bird. But she looks pretty happy there.
In addition to the thorny seat, this location is completely exposed to the elements. No shelter from the rain. No shade.
Think of the poor babies sitting up there later! Crazy.
Mourning doves will seemingly nest anywhere.
Great details caught of this mourning dove, who found such a nice perch!
Prick!
Dove's are noted for their precarious nesting locations, but this one seems especially prickly.
Doves are pretty lazy when it comes to nest building. A couple of sticks and that's a nest! She seems to be watching you.
Ouch!!
Sure is tough bird.
Lovely dove and lovely capture too, Sharon!
i'd call it the "pokey".
A-m-a-z-i-n-g!
