Grand Avenue

Last Friday evening I joined a group of friends for dinner at a restaurant on Grand Avenue near downtown Phoenix.  I was a little early so I took a walk along the Grand Avenue in an area known as the "arts district'.  There are lots of galleries and studios along this street.  There is also a lot of street art to admire.  I love all the hanging planters and sculptures and I really like the knitted covers on many of the tree trunks.  It's a very colorful place.

Those knitted covers around trees I haven't seen here for a long time now. A few years ago I used to see them everywhere, but the hype is over now.

The knitted tree covers are great! They're much more ornate than the ones I've seen in the past. I also love the multicolored sidewalks.

Man, Grand Avenue ain't what it used to be. 'Course, "use to be" was almost 50 years ago and EVERYTHING has changed.

We use to see alot of the knitted and crocheted covered trees when we lived in Tauranga, someone's done well with those ones.

Love the knitted items for the palm trees. Grand Ave is looking much spiffier than the last time we were there, which was awhile ago.

Knit bombing! I haven't seen that here for a few years. It looks like a fun street to wander.
