Filming from the Air

Sunday was the Rock and Roll Marathon here in Phoenix and although I didn't go out to see the runners, I did hear the distinctive sound of a helicopter overhead.  I saw this one from my balcony hovering over the race site a block away from me.  It looks like there was some filming going on with that camera hanging down in front.  There is no television station markings on this helicopter so I'm wondering if this one was hired by the marathon organizers.

They certainly make a lot of noise! At least you had a pretty sky.

Helicopters scare me; perhaps it is from riding them between Midway Airport and the larger Chicago airport many years ago. Don't like the experience at all. The movie Blackhawk Down didn't help the experience either.

It appears you had a nice sunny day for the marathon. You didn't run? :) Me, neither! I can't run. Lois Anne used to run a lot...did two marathons. I don't really understand people who run 26 plus miles just for the hell of it. They aren't even being chased by an angry critter, or father, or wife, or girlfriend, or bill collector!

It reminds me of that crash in central Phoenix a few years ago.

I always find it spooky when they are circling above our place for any reason!
