Spectacular. This particular vision of nature is indeed wonderful. And we should celebrate it. Other of nature's visitations we could do without, such as diseases, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis ...
But the first time we saw cacti bloom we were in awe for we had moved from Minnesota to Arizona and knew nothing of the desert. So, when the desert took on a variety of colors spread out across the miles, our astonishment led to joy!

Spectacular!
There is nothing so spectacular than a cactus flower.
Gorgeous! One of my tall cactus is about to show two gorgeous huge white blooms. I think they will open today... or tonight. :-)
That's amazing and so beautiful.
Some of the cactus flowers do seem completely out of proportion to the size of the cactus.
Such beauty and delicacy on a prickly parent cactus!
Unbelievable that such a little plant could produce such a huge and beautiful flower!
Beautiful!
Looks like a night blooming cereus (sp?).
Wow and what a gorgeous bloom it is!!!!

This blossom is like the pink ones on my cactus that is much shorter and rounder. I think they are so delicate.
I used to grow night flowering cacti and remember many enjoyable evenings spent waiting for the bud yo open. It was always worth it.
So very wonderful Sharon and as you say so unexpected on such a thin cactus. Beautifully captured here.
