Family of Scarecrows
The same day I found yesterday's house with it's colorful "palm trees", I also spotted this family of scarecrows bound to a tree in the front yard of another house. They appear to be quite pleased to be there.
January is an odd time for scarecrows, as in most places there would not be seeds or crops out in the fields, but these are not working scarecrows. They might be Midwesterners who moved to Phoenix when they retired, like so many other residents of the Phoenix area.
they probably moved there from vermont...no wonder they look so pleased...all that sunshine, only a single layer of flannel needed in the middle of january...who wouldn't look pleased. sweet shot.

I like these colorful dudes much better than the "trees."
This is a very interesting street near you Sharon, and yes they do seem to be a very happy bunch of vegemites!!

What is happening in Phoenix? So many intriguing items in your yards! These are cute and all but Halloween is over. I think. It is, right?
Got to admit, though, that the faces on the scarecrows bring a smile to my face!
You sure do find some oddities! They are cute though...
Which way to Oz?
Looks like a greeting committee for The Straw Man.
A fun collection!
Very cute! I wonder how long they got to be out tied to the tree. And when they go away, I wonder what will take their place.
That's a happy looking trio!
Very cute! Interesting neighborhood.
What a colourful place! Somehow I missed yesterday's post - love those trees.
They do look happy to be there, good find.
Someone is missing their hat.
I dunno, Sharon, I think those smiles are forced.
"Do you see that broad taking our pictures?"
"Yuh, just fake a smile and she'll go away."
They look so pleased. Great find, so sunny and funny.
Cute! :-)
haha, funny!
