Hillside Modern

Another home we visited on the Tour for Life was this lovely house clinging to a rocky hillside.  Where you see those window shades open in the center is the level at which the living area is situated. So, it’s a bit of a climb to reach the front door.  The sides and back of this home are all glass giving it an open feeling even if it is right up against the mountain.  There was even a narrow pool in back sitting right up against the rocks.  I really liked this one but, I’d have to install an elevator to live there.

Yeah, but just think of the great cardio workout you'd get bringing in all your bags from Wal-Mart and Target (Hey, don't knock it. That's all we got here - Wal-Mart, that is. No Target). Is that a pink and black limo I see out front? Looks kinda like a 1956 stretch Crown Victoria. When I was 12 my 16-year-old uncle had one - sans the stretch of course!

House tours are a great deal of fun! Nice to see how people furnish their homes, usually quite lovely homes!

Beautiful. And the cactus around add a lot to the decoration.

Forget the house look at that car!

The pink and black station wagon grabbed my attention too! I would have to see the inside of this place before I could say if it appealed to me or not. That is a long climb up to the door.

To all you car lovers: This particular home tour always parks a classic car in front of the houses that are on the tour. This makes it easy to spot when you are searching for the house. The one in this picture is a true classic.

I would love to see this one from another angle...maybe one of the glass sides. It does fit in well with the surroundings. I'm glad you explained the car...it does pop out and get your attention. When you didn't refer to it while explaining the house, I was thinking, "Sharon, let's talk about the elephant sitting in the room." ;)

Like everyone else it was the car that grabbed me. I'd love to tool around town in that! Cool house but I think I like yesterdays better and it had no stairs.

Okay, the house is one thing and has a certain charm about it...but that car! It looks like an old DeSoto station wagon! Or maybe a Packard.

No elevator? That would take some effort to haul groceries up to the kitchen, it would appear. At first I thought those "shades" were solar panels.

Changed my mind. I think that car is a Mercury.

Tours like this one expose people to many different styles. I might have hurried through this one, to spend more time with some others.

You might know my attention was immediatly caught by the Saguaros, but I also find the modern building quite nice.
