Birds and Chatter

Last Sunday, I took an early morning walk at the Desert Botanical Garden and at one point, sat down in the Contemplation Garden to watch the birds.  There is a water feature here and the birds like to get a drink and take baths in the fountain.  It was so quiet and peaceful with the sound of water and the chirping of the birds and then.....

...three other people entered the garden and I heard one woman say "what a peaceful place to sit and listen to the water".   She then proceeded to never stop talking.  Not only could you not hear the water but, the birds were not likely to stop for a drink with all that talking going on.

I held my ground and stayed put until they finally left and the birds came back.

P.S. The birds are a white winged dove, a house finch and a Gambel's Quail.  Sorry I didn't add that earlier.

You caught some very special birds, that last one with its fashionable headwear, amazing and the red one also so nice. You don't need more (noisy) people there...

Some people are in love with the sound of their own voice. This kind of thing often happens in medical offices, also. Did you consider water-boarding her? I guess she left before it got that far. :) Beautiful photos. I'm unfamiliar with all of these birds. Love the colors on the 2nd one.

You were very patient and calm enough to not say anything to her, Sharon! Love your pics -someone will ID them today!

LOL @ Lowell!

Seriously, some people just cannot handle quiet.

That last bird is amazing! Is it a quail of some kind?

What a lovely way to while away some time Sharon. Birding takes patience and yours, despite the chattering ladies 😀 paid off, super shots here 🐦

The quail is one we'd never see here. I like the fluffiness on the first one!
