Low-hanging Clouds

We've had lots of monsoon type, low-hanging clouds lately and many of them have looked like they are about to open up with some rain but, so far no such luck.  Hopefully, that will change soon.  We are due for a good monsoon rain.  Bring it on, I say!

On the other hand, my home town of Quincy Illinois got hit pretty hard with a really bad storm Monday night.  Hundreds of trees are down or uprooted, 85% of the city had their power out most of the day on Tuesday and there were even some walls that came tumbling down.  That kind of storm we don't need here.  Just rain, lots of rain.

That's a dramatic looking sky... bad news about the damage.

The Mid-West is getting hit hard this week and so is the South. Those clouds look to be touching the mountain tips.

Nice shot, Sharon, like the mountains !
Speed limit 25? So low, why that?

I thought the morning news said there was some rough weather in Phoenix last night. Although I do realize Phoenix is so huge any more it frequently will rain in one part of the city and other parts remain dry. Today's forecast was perhaps even some rain for California. That would be good news! Stay safe in the summer monsoons.

Weather and rain can be so unpredictable. Too bad that it cannot be evenly spaced throughout the country without droughts and floods. Perfect photo.

Those clouds look like they could have some rain in them. We are just now getting dried out from the downpours we had two weeks ago. It was nice but now we have mosquitoes.

Awesome sky! We could really use some clouds...

I do love a good storm, but not when it causes damage to people's property.

Great shot, Sharon! I hope you get a nice long gentle rain to soak everything nicely!

I second VP. If it doesn't start raining, it'll be drought summer here! So sorry about Illinois...

I'm with you, Sharon. Every morning I check the radar but the rain seems to be staying east of I-17.

I wonder if the same system from Illinois hit here last night.

Weather like this makes the most dramatic desert landscapes.

I didn't know you are from Quincy. My law partner went to college there.

I will be hoping for soft velvety rain for you.
