I do love these birds...

I spotted a group of my favorite birds at the Desert Botanical Garden recently.  They were eating the seeds from the dried-out chocolate daisies.  These peach-faced lovebirds that have recently shown up in large wild groups throughout the valley are so entertaining to watch.  They make me smile every time I encounter them.

So pretty! I have only seen one all by itself this far north and he was probably blown in on a big wind.

I think I told you that we had them at home when I was a kid. They are really intelligent creatures and real devils when they were flying around the house - they loved to chew curtains and strip wallpaper. They also loved classical music - they would be transfixed listening! I loved them.

Great shot. Amazing focus and lighting. You even caught a glint of light in the bird's eye.

They sure are different from anything we have in the northeast!
