A Little Weekend R & R

I returned Sunday evening from another fabulous weekend in California with my good friends Julie and Dave.  It was so nice to get away from the Arizona heat for a while and enjoy the beautiful, blue Pacific Ocean out there in front of me.  I had a great time just relaxing, walking, doing a tiny bit of shopping and doing plenty of great eating.

I always enjoy seeing the exotic plants that seem to grow like weeds in the California climate.

And watching the interesting sea birds as they hang out in their private resting spot.

It was a great weekend full of laughter, food and some very good wine!

Rainy Sunday

Sunday was a gloomy rainy day in Phoenix. Living in the desert, we don’t get many all day rainy days but, we got one on Sunday. It was cloudy and dreary all day. I took this photo at the entrance to a gated community.

I took the small photo at a higher level with a view over the city. Click on the photo to make it bigger and you can see to the left one of the office buildings on Camelback Road. Just left of center is the high-rise condo building that I featured on September 18th. In the center you can just make out the dome over the Chase Field ballpark and to the right is the cluster of high-rise buildings in downtown Phoenix.

Weekend Pleasures

I am fortunate to live close to two amazing museums, The Phoenix Art Museum and the internationally known Heard Museum. One of my favorite pastimes is to spend some leisure time exploring one of these places and treating myself to lunch at their wonderful cafes operated by Arcadia Farms. That is exactly what I did this weekend. I took this picture while I was waiting for my salad to arrive. What a great way to spend a Saturday. By the way, that salad is called a California Roll salad and it was excellent.

Because I work from my home at least two days a week, I can even slip out to one of these great lunch places and treat myself during the week.
