Here is another curious piece of art that I found at the Phoenix Art Museum on my last visit. This is called "Big Bobby and the Rest Motel".
The artist is Rodney Alan Greenblat (b. 1960).
The description says that Greenblat was a prominent figure in the New York East Village art scene during the 1980's. Having grown up in the 1960's, he uses exaggerated caricatures to capture the nostalgic experience of watching cartoons or stopping at quirky roadside attractions.
I think since I traveled a lot as a child and have seen my share of quirky roadside attractions, this resonated with me immediately. It gave me a nostalgic feeling of childhood explorations.

This made me smile 😊
We should stop at more random sights.
Fun art.
A fun piece, Sharon.
OK, you're not going to believe this, but I KNOW Rodney "Musho" Greenblat! He attends the Zendo in New York that I used to attend. This is a real blast from the past, reading your post! I haven't seen Musho in years but he's a fantastic guy and very creative.
Oh wow, that is wonderful to know. I had a feeling he was a fun guy.
