The Desert in Bloom

The desert is bursting with color right now.  I took a walk at the Desert Botanical Garden yesterday and captured photos of some of the colorful blooms on display.  Above is a Palo Verde tree full of tiny yellow blooms and it is partially shading a prickly pear cactus with lots of orange blooms.

A bloom on a claret cup cactus.

Another prickly pear bloom....this time in pink.

Another claret cup cactus just full of blooms.

To the left some yellow prickly pear blooms.

The one above is a Biznaga Dorada cactus, a type of barrel cactus. It's crowned with a ring of yellow blooms.

To the right, a close-up of some of those orange prickly pear blooms.

Lots of wonderful color to enjoy!
