When I was at Scottsdale Fashion Square last week, I found this interesting window display in the Bottega Veneta store.
It was a whole row of these glass Santa busts each one holding up one of the leather items that this store is known for. I like these glass Santas but, I think they would look better holding an assortment of chocolates or maybe a piece of pie.
Hmmm... it took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. I agree though, this Santa is made to display treats!
ReplyDeleteI had trouble with it, too. But I vote for chocolates!
ReplyDeleteGlitzy Santa's :) I'm with you on the chocolate preference Sharon, much tastier than leather :)
ReplyDeleteGo for the chocolates of a tray of delicate cookies.
ReplyDeleteI thought these were ducks from a local pond that I'd seen wandering around the area. It wasn't until later that I learned the back story.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, on a dark and gloomy day, a group of ducks wandered into Bottega Veneta looking for a little fun. They had learned early on that they could quack only when their master said to do so. But a duck doesn't need to quack so when mall security came running down the malls main hallway pulling their cameras to have at the ready, they ducked into a huge display window, they donned some extra Santa suits (and hats) that Ms. Bottega Veneta was saving for a rainy day, and took a pose.
And they didn't quack. For almost a whole week. Until some shoppers complained that the store stamk to high heaven and the mall cops were called to do their thing again.
The ducks knew their little party would end soon, so when Ms. Bottega Bottega, a horrid, florid flush on her face, came running by the window with ducks, with this a florid flourish, and began to screech about how she'd boil and cook those damn ducks when she caught them, they scooted out the door and headed back to their pond leaving little piles duck crap everywhere!
Way cool. And I wouldn't mind a Bottega Veneta bag and shoes... Just saying... :-)
ReplyDeleteThat certainly does make you look twice, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteChocolate! Always!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
ReplyDeleteI'll go for chocolate or pie, too. Milk chocolate with cherry inside and mince pie.
ReplyDeleteAh, Christmas in Scottsdale. If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
ReplyDeleteCreative window displays are real art.
ReplyDeleteVery creative indeed. My favourite window decorations are Louis Vuitton's. Year round!
