While in Cave Creek...
I can't drive all the way out to Cave Creek without having some mole at El Encanto restaurant. When I had it two years ago, the flavors stuck in mind as some of the best mole I've eaten around here.
And, I wasn't disappointed. Delicious as usual and enough to take a little home for lunch the next day. I do love a well made mole sauce and this place does it very well indeed.
The place is also very attractive with a nice little pond in front and lots of Mexican tile work. This was the view from my table. Each of those partitions has a full length window in between so that those seated inside also have a view of the pond and the ducks who live there.
That's a colourful looking meal in a very colourful looking place!
ReplyDeleteThat food platter looks divine! What a delightful place to dine!!
ReplyDeleteMexican food appeals to me along as it's MILD. As you know, I'm a pretty sensitive guy. hahaha
ReplyDeleteBut really, I can have issues with mustard and ketchup at times.
Looks delicious!
Now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteI do remember it being a long drive to Cave Creek - from Scottsdale. This place probably wasn't there then, though. I need some more info - what is "mole?" Looks tasty.
ReplyDeleteI will have to look up what mole is!
ReplyDeleteI always order something mole when at Mexican restaurant too! I had a really good one a couple of weeks ago and let everyone try it and they were all licking their lips.
ReplyDeleteThis place looks really authentic. We had "Mexican" on the weekend. Most of the people in the restaurant had burgers. :S
ReplyDeletePicturesque and inviting...
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be quite a nice restaurant. The food looks to be A+.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Guadalajara, we used to go to a little place that served black Oaxacan mole on soft tacos on banana leaves. Dee-lish!
ReplyDeleteA place to enjoy, there are a couple of very good restaurants in Cave Creek!
ReplyDeleteThe picture surely speaks for itself.
You're going to have to explain what 'mole' sauce is Sharon? Looks good though :) How fabulous the colour and mosiacs on the walls. I can see why you stopped.
ReplyDeleteActually the food looks much more delicious than the lizard's food on top! :-) Truly yummy!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that place!
