My neighbor had his palm trees trimmed again so once again I took the opportunity to catch a few photos. I think he hired the same guys again because they climbed the tree exactly the same way, spikes in their shoes and rope around the waist and up they went. I can tell you for sure, I couldn't do that.

You can't be afraid of heights if you work as an arborist that's for sure.
He looks very confident and competent and most importantly, comfortable!
I have never seen palm clipping before. Looks very interesting. We do clip the trees in our neighbors yard that grow over the fence, but they are not this high.

Yes, I saw on the news the other night that you received some significant rainfall. Some scasry images.
I like the action photo, but even I couldn't do that.
This is dangerous work. In addition to the issue of heights, they can encounter scorpions up there.
Dave said "scorpions?!" I don't think it's a job that would fill me with confidence! Aren't we lucky, tho, to have tradesmen and women able and willing to do the jobs we could't or wouldn't do?!
You definitely need a head for heights to do this job Sharon.. That counts me right out :)
Very dangerous work! You know, Chet used to climb telephone poles the same way.
Scorpions linger in trees like that?
It wouldn't be me up there!
I had no clue you could trim palm trees!
I couldn't do it either. After all your rain...big job!
I have palm trees in Florida but I only have very light trimming done. I like a more natural look.
I had a little guy who trimmed our tree when we lived in Phoenix and he did it the same way. I just watched in amazement.
I like watching these guys but would not wish to do what they do. It was palms' trimming time on the east coast of Spain when we went.
I've never seen people climbing to do this. They use a little truck with a kind of a crane in it to trim the palm trees around my house and it's really noisy! :-)
