Neighborhood Vagabond

I call him the neighborhood vagabond because he tends to prowl around the neighborhood making himself at home wherever he goes.  Every now and then I'll pull into my driveway to find him relaxing on my front porch.  Sometimes I see him doing the same at my neighbor's house.  When I go out for a walk, I might see him down the street lounging on someone else's walk.  He does get around.  He's never wanted to come inside.  In fact if I open the door, he packs up and leaves.  Aloof would be a good word to describe him.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today.  I'm showing a small slice of my summer weekend in California.

  1. Look at that face! I think he's a private cop - a sort of neighborhood watch cat! And he takes his job seriously! Nice portrait!

  5. We have two and aloof is good word choice. I wouldn't mess with this cat though. He{?} looks like he could mean business. I can 'read' cat faces... sort of a cat whisperer. hehehehehe

  6. On Julie's Scottsdale Daily Photo site today you will see something that cats have to watch for in our neighborhood, which is perhaps why we rarely encounter an outdoor cat -- coyotes.

  8. If he survives in the outdoors he must be street smart. It sounds like he's an independent kind of guy. I must say he is interesting looking.

  10. He looks like quite a character. I'm assuming he's got a home of his own, but probably considers the whole area to be his stomping grounds.

  12. I love black and white felines. The only cat I ever had looked much like this but with longer hair.
