I saw this stack of 8-Tracks at a local antique store. Remember these? I remember how there was that short interruption in a song when they had to change tracks. Does anyone have an 8-track player today? I'm betting there is a very, very small market for these relics from the past.
A real blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteThe Mario Lanza tape is what caught me eye. When I was a kid my mother took me to see his movies. Wow that was before 8-Tracks.
ReplyDeleteThese are real antiques, but I don't they have much value.
ReplyDeleteOne of my daughter's friends still has his 8-track player! I never even had one!
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't have one...
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen an 8-track for years. They went the way of the dinosaurs. Don't see many VHS tapes these days, either, except at flea markets.
ReplyDeleteI do not now and never have had one.
ReplyDeleteThe Best of Jim Reeves.. oh my these are old Sharon :) there will be somebody out there with the right equipment to play them I bet!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad had a pile in his Tbird. THEY went fast.
ReplyDeleteI bet my kids don't even know the term, "8 track".
ReplyDeleteI have heard that vinyl is becoming popular again but I don't think these will.
Charlie Pride, Eddie Arnold, Jim Reeves, these were all on my parents list of favorites. They did have an 8 track player. Wow!
ReplyDeleteSomeone out there would be thrilled to have these Sharon!
ReplyDeleteWell I do remember them but I'm not part of the market... :-)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of 8-tracks before... so that's what they look like? I grew up with CDs.
ReplyDeleteI loved my 8-track player in my car.
ReplyDeleteI was in a store recently that had piles of these. I can't think of anyone I know who has an 8-track player.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an 8-track player. But I've heard of them. Good to see it's not just a legend. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEight-track tapes were so terrible. That's one form of antiquated technology that DESERVED to die! (This looks like a pretty hilarious assortment, too -- Engelbert Humperdinck? "The Magic Organ Polka Album"?
