Geometry: The branch of mathematics concerned with shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space.
That happens to be the word that popped into my head when I saw the way the stairs and rails crossed each other making all kinds of lines and angles. The stairs are located inside the Heard Museum and I don't think I noticed the symmetry of them before two weeks ago when I was there.
Well done Sharon. It's eye catching.
ReplyDeleteCan't be better described. My favorite museum in town.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy this kind of symmetry. And the stairs can also provide some healthful exercise if one runs up and down them. That might be too much for the museum, though.
ReplyDeleteWell seen and well done indeed, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteStairs are often a showcase of museums, and I have sometimes taken photos of staircases in museums, especially if it is a circular staircase.
ReplyDeleteOf course the Guggenheim in N.Y. is probably the most iconic example, although that is a ramp that also serves as a gallery.
The row of circular lights along the roof tops this geometrical image off perfectly Sharon :)
ReplyDeleteI like this, Sharon. I wonder if the metal structure was added to the original stairs to bring them up to a code of some type.
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's a marvellously graphic view!
ReplyDeleteI think that is the perfect name for this one!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Sharon. Angularity like this often catches my own eye.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shot, Sharon. The patterns of the stairs really pleases my eyes.
ReplyDeleteWow, you found something beautiful in this everyday scene. I too love your geometric find!
ReplyDeleteAlot of nice design details here.
ReplyDeleteSteps, newells. posts, and rails. . .I never could figure out how to label a stairwell, staircase? I know how to label your photo, tho. It's a terrific composition of repeated lines, shapes and angles. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully composed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition, Sharon!
