I made a trip to the zoo Friday morning hoping to get a few shots before the summer heat made zoo walking impossible. I found these young zebras engaged in a friendly battle.
There was a lot of biting, jumping and battering involved but, they appeared to be having a good time.
It kind of made me think of my very early childhood when my sisters and I would engage in some hand to hand combat that sometimes ended with bite marks on one or the other.
Very selsom do we see pictures of zebras' tummy.
ReplyDeleteFascinating stripes.
Cute scene, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday.
Well, these are horses of a different stripe. Cute. But I find it hard to believe that you sisters would actually fight! Really? :)
ReplyDeleteThat first one confuses the heck out of me.
ReplyDeleteReminds of a favourite song when I was a child: the horse in striped pyjamams
ReplyDeleteChildren will be children.
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the zebra!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember any fighting and biting. Yelling and screaming, but no fighting.
I love it. I miss sitting at the tomb in Papago park at lunchtime to watch the Giraffes.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots - they are such graphic guys!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, nor have I seen a zebr's stomach before!
ReplyDeleteIt must have been fun watching them. Re. our photos about Art in Bloom, I surfed back on you blog and did see the one you liked, and I agree that it is outstanding. Contemporary may have been difficult to interpret but your and my florist in the shows did a splendid job on each one!
They look like they are having fun, in a violent kind of way!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what big teeth you have.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing that I like about Zebras is that they don't like cigarettes.
ReplyDeleteZebra high jinks, how fantastic Sharon. Every time I see Zebras at our zoo they just eat an eat , would love to see a wee bit of stripy horse play :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous captures of my favourite species, the Grévy's Zebra!
