Here is another one of the colorfully painted rooms at the old motel I've featured on Sunday and Monday. When I was just a little kid, I'm sure I stayed in places that looked much like this on the many travels with my parents and sisters. My dad planned a road trip every summer when we were all little. The family had visited all 48 states (not Alaska or Hawaii) by the time we were all in high school. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed those trips! It was my summer adventure.

Wonderful colours Sharon- what a great find. Impressed with your family road trips. I have been to about 30 states in probably about 6trips to the USA, so still have quite a few to do ;-)

Your father was very, very smart to expose you and your family to the wonders of our vast country. Lucky you! Love the colors of this old motel. Reminds me of Route 66.
Amazing colours and the clear blue sky sets them off perfectly.
What wonderful memories, Sharon! Interesting color combo too
Lucky you. I'd like to take a 50 states in 50 weeks trip but by the time I'm able to I probably won't be able to afford the gas!
Hats off to the current owners, they did a great job, the place looks lovely. I would have also enjoyed your travels in the 48 states.
This does remind me of those old motels. Our family traveled by car in the summers too. Lots of good memories.
What great memories Sharon, family trips were the best. ..This is a pretty retro colour scheme here, I like it a lot and as mentioned above, the blue is the perfect contrast.
I remember those trips too. This shot reminds me of a place we stayed in Florida once. Remember when we played in the ocean? And what about those old Whiting Brothers motels along Route 66! Good times.
There was one of these motels along Grand Avenue and I think it was called the Palms. We stayed there when we first moved here back in the 60's. They've torn it down now.
Me encanta la combinación de estos colores!
I remember these kinds of motel rooms, too. I also remember little cabins. They were pretty funky but I'm not sure we knew any better as kids. We just enjoyed!
Boy I bet it was fun. We didn't take many trips but the few we did I remember fondly - even though I wouldn't have told you being cooped up in the car with my parents and big sister was fun at the time!
That's great that you can say you visited all those states. I think I've only been to 17 so far.
what a fun adventure!
I love road trips! Looks like people live here or is it still a motel?
You can't miss those colors.
