I'm betting that most of you daily photo bloggers know about prowling around in search of photos. I spotted this old window on the back of a building in downtown Phoenix when I turned down a little used alley. I like the way the shutters have been braced open and I love the brick wall.
One or two doors down, I saw this patch of brick showing through the crumbling stucco. Some people pay a lot of money to get this southwestern look on their buildings and fences. This one came by it naturally.
I think it's fun to walk through alleys looking at back doors and windows - as long as it's safe, of course!
ReplyDeleteAlleys are often a font of great photographic opportunities. I enjoy finding something that is out of the ordinary, too.
ReplyDeleteThose shutters look one of a kind.
Nothing beats natural! Love the window shot, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteThese may be the best old architectural details in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Sharon. Always wonder whats behind the window. I had Jury Duty last week so your post yesterday was quite familiar.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the brick peeking through the stucco.
ReplyDeleteI agree with JM Sharon, you can pay a fortune for something that will never look as good as the real aged thing! Very nice find.
ReplyDeleteAlleys are great! I wouldn't have expected to see a window like this in downtown Phoenix, even in an alley. Neat find!
ReplyDeleteNow these shutters, bricks and window really have character!
ReplyDeleteGreat catches, both of them!
ReplyDeleteGreat catch! I love a good laneway/alley!
ReplyDeleteHope you're careful in those alleys! But this is cool find and I like the reflection also.
ReplyDeleteThe crumbling stucco effect and your comment made me think of shopping recently and a rather upscale shop is selling Levis with torn, ragged edges and holes in them! Not cheap, either. Silly!
I am always on the prowl and now that I have a new camera, I am on the prowl more so.... I love this old window.
ReplyDeleteWonderful details in your shots. Love the warm colors.
ReplyDeleteWell, Sharon, your search paid off! Two nice, natural images for the day.
ReplyDeleteNice reflection. I used to cruise the allys around all the art studios downtown in search of shots.
ReplyDeleteA great find with an autumn feel to go back in time...
ReplyDeleteNice find Sharon, especially the window photo.
ReplyDeleteHi! I love your pictures--you have a really good eye. I was wondering if I could have permission to use your stucco/brick wall for a Bible study promotional on the book of Nehemiah. Please contact me at: vwvanatics at sbcglobal dot net. Thanks so much!
