Prowling around...

I'm betting that most of you daily photo bloggers know about prowling around in search of photos.  I spotted this old window on the back of a building in downtown Phoenix when I turned down a little used alley.  I like the way the shutters have been braced open and I love the brick wall.

One or two doors down, I saw this patch of brick showing through the crumbling stucco.  Some people pay a lot of money to get this southwestern look on their buildings and fences.  This one came by it naturally.

  1. I think it's fun to walk through alleys looking at back doors and windows - as long as it's safe, of course!

  2. Alleys are often a font of great photographic opportunities. I enjoy finding something that is out of the ordinary, too.
Those shutters look one of a kind.

  5. Love this, Sharon. Always wonder whats behind the window. I had Jury Duty last week so your post yesterday was quite familiar.

  7. I agree with JM Sharon, you can pay a fortune for something that will never look as good as the real aged thing! Very nice find.

  8. Alleys are great! I wouldn't have expected to see a window like this in downtown Phoenix, even in an alley. Neat find!

  11. Hope you're careful in those alleys! But this is cool find and I like the reflection also.

The crumbling stucco effect and your comment made me think of shopping recently and a rather upscale shop is selling Levis with torn, ragged edges and holes in them! Not cheap, either. Silly!

  18. Hi! I love your pictures--you have a really good eye. I was wondering if I could have permission to use your stucco/brick wall for a Bible study promotional on the book of Nehemiah. Please contact me at: vwvanatics at sbcglobal dot net. Thanks so much!
